Nintendo will never beat the homebrew community. Or the companies who make flashcarts.

There is no hack like TPH for Wii homebrew you actually have to buy something? that sucks considering I just spent $200 on the system and a couple games for my kid. With the card can you hack to watch movies? DSi really dropped the ball on that feature :(

it is still not practically possible to run homebrew in dsi mode.

Just wondering. WHAT IS SO GREAT ABOUT HOMEBREW STUFF? All I've ever seen with homebrew were low-class low-rate junk games. So what possible real use is it? (Other than trying to drive Nintendo bankrupt by not buying anything else they make and just pirating the games for free)

It can add functionality that Nintendo did not or will not provide (take a look at the applications that are homebrew they are the truly grate stuff) and emulators are fun since everybody knows that a dead company is not going to port one of you're favorite obscure games from yesteryear to a new console and yes most of the homebrew games suck. On the programmer side having a portable device to program with decent 3d graphics and built in wifi and camera gives you a lot to play with. I've seen that somebody built a small robot out of a ds with a dsserial cart. Pirating is just a minuscule part of what can be done. Btw DS Quake is a fun homebrew port if you like FPS games.

45 fans.
It's not about piracy... At least not in this sense. If you do look closely, there are loads of commercial quality games out there that are homebrew, and free to donwload and play. Warhawk being one of them, Flashback (an amazing classic game remade as homebrew - with permission from the original author), etc... But beyond that, being able to watch movies, listen to MP3's, read eBooks on your NDS screen (an eBook reader is easily $200 or more - this does it just good enough that you don't have to buy one, if you were looking to do so anyway!)

But more than that even. It allows homebrew or budding programmers to actually create their own games, perhaps in practice, or for fun. But it lets them create it and try it on real hardware, and make sure it works.
