Watch Movies Like The Exorcism Of Emily Rose With The R4 DS Card On Your Nintendo 3DS

Movies.  We all love them.  And being able to watch them on your hand held Nintendo 3DS system frees you up to enjoy any movie you want, any time, and anywhere you may be.  That's what I have been doing with my R4 DS Card on my 3DS.  Just last week I had the chance to watch the Exorcism Of Emily Rose on my 3ds system.  It's a movie I have wanted to watch for a long time, but never actually had the hour and a half to sit down and watch it.  I do commute to work on the MTR train, and my travel time is usually about 50 minutes or so, giving me the perfect amount of time to catch a movie, even if I watch it in two bits, half on the way to work, and the other half on the way back.

The question was, how to do it.  I didn't want to lug my laptop with me (I don't need it for work), nor did I want to go and spend $100.00 on a portable DVD player, as it was silly do carry it around in my briefcase, just to watch movies.  That's when I stumbled on the R4 DS Card for the Nintendo 3DS system.  With this little card I could use my nintendo 3ds as my portable movie player.  I always had it with me anyway (it's what I would do to kill the time on the train to and from work) so it seemed like the perfect solution.  Not to mention that fact that it was under $25.00 for the R4 DS, making it a super affordable alternative to a portable DVD player, and definitely much smaller and lighter than my 17 in laptop.

If you have a Nintendo DSi or Nintendo 3DS, you can do the same thing.  You'll just need a few things to get going.  You'll need to get MoonShell - the homebrew movie player for the DS and 3DS.  With moonshell you'll get a DPG movie converter.  What this does is allow you to take any DVD movie you have, or any digital version of the movie you may have on your PC, and quickly convert it to the DPG format for your R4 DS Card.  Conversion time is only about 10-25 minutes, depending on the movie, and then you're all set and ready to watch your movies and TV Shows on you Nintendo 3DS.
